San Francisco 49ers’ All-Pro tight-end, Vernon Davis, had the best game of his life last Saturday as he connected with his quarterback, Alex Smith, to get the game winning touchdown. What was even more miraculous about his catch is that his team, who were underdogs even though they had home field advantage, was 14 seconds away from beating the 2010 Super Bowl Champs, the New OrlĂ©ans Saints.
Although this was a great emotional win for this young 49ers team and their first year coach, Jim Harbaugh, I couldn’t go another day without addressing the man tears that Vernon Davis shared on the field. Yes, the same flood of tears reminiscent of Terrell Owens’ 49ers breakdown after he caught the winning pass from Steve Young 13 years ago.
I love a man that’s not afraid to show his emotions, but there is only one place I will not tolerate snot bubbles and uncontrollable crying from them. Guess where that is folks, on the FOOTBALL FIELD.
So, as expected, join me as I caption this moment caught on camera…
Referees and Alex Smith: “C’mon Vernon, don’t start that mess here! Not on the field.”
“Man, I can’t help it…blame T.O.! He thought he was going to have the best cry wearing a 49er uniform, NOT!”
Congratulations to the San Francisco 49ers on making it to the NFC Championship game. They have definitely proven that they have the talent, work ethic and ability to be a top contender in the NFL. And as for Vernon Davis, get it together homey. You still have a NFC championship to win. Stay Focused!
Check out the videos of Davis and Owens and tell me which 49er you think had the better cry…

T.O. was an attention whore before the term was even invented.
